President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that he has “truckloads” of evidence that Democrats rigged the presidential election in 2020.

During a Christmas reception at the White House, Trump said that the Democratic Party stole the 2020 election and made attempts to do the same in 2024.

“They’re good at cheating in elections. Very good at cheating, they’re professionals at cheating,” he said. “We won in 2016 by a lot. The election was rigged in 2020. We have all the ammunition, all the stuff, and you’ll see it come out. It’s coming out in truckloads.”

Trump also suggested that he would win California if it weren’t for Democrats’ interference. Citing other states where he performed well with Hispanic voters (including in notoriously Republican-heavy Miami),

“If the vote in California was legitimate, it was not… we would win California by a lot,” he said. “California, more than any other place, is so rigged.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom shared a clip of Trump’s claims on social media, responding, “Hahahahahahahahaha ok.”

Elsewhere in the long-winded ceremony, the president was distracted by a woman in the crowd who he believed looked like Ivanka Trump, asking her to turn around for the cameras. He also told a story about a man who was bit by a venomous snake in Peru and marveled at the crowd’s lack of interest.

“Look how quiet everybody is,” he said, “You know, when you talk about snakes and things like that people find it interesting.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is calling out President Donald Trump again for spreading misinformation.

On Sunday, Trump doubled back on his repeated, false claims about rigged elections, claiming this time that he would’ve won California in the 2024 presidential election if he hadn’t been cheated by the Democratic party.

The president made the comments while delivering remarks at a White House Christmas reception.

“If the vote in California was legitimate, which it’s not. If 38 million ballots … Everything is mail-in voting. They mail out 38 million ballots and they come in — where the hell do they go and where do they come from?” he asked the crowd.

The right-wing leader continued, “It’s a rigged election in California because we would win California by a lot. And again, they feel they have the advantage with the Hispanic, they don’t because I won the Hispanic vote.”

Trump’s opponent in the 2024 presidential race, former Vice President Kamala Harris, won the 54 electoral votes in California by a sizable margin, according to multiplepolls.

Trump also accused California of being “so rigged” more than “any other [state].”

Newsom didn’t hesitate to mock Trump for his erroneous claims on Sunday.

In an X post alongside a clip of the president’s comments, the California governor simply wrote, “Hahahahahahahahaha ok.”

Claiming that “we won in [the] 2016 [presidential election] by a lot,” Trump went on to allege that his administration has “truckloads” of evidence to show Democrats “rigged” the 2020 election.

“We have all the ammunition, all the stuff, and you’ll see it come out. It’s coming out in truckloads. But then we won again in 2024 with an election we call ‘too big to rig,’” he said. “And we were leading big in the polls, but I said, ‘Go out and vote, you gotta go out and vote, make it too big to rig.’”

Trump added, “[The Democrats] tried to rig it, but they couldn’t do it. It was too big to rig … too many votes.”

‘Insanity’: Top Democrat is reportedly moving toward another presidential run

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is making it clear that she is still keeping her options open on a potential presidential run, Axios reported.

According to Axios, three developments over the past week have been viewed by many Democrats as the start of a 2028 campaign, including the recent expansion of her book tour to new cities for “107 Days,” which details her eleventh-hour entrance and defeat to President Donald Trump during the 2024 election.

The outlet on Sunday also pointed to her appearance before the Democratic National Committee’s annual winter meeting and her sudden change in rhetoric — such as critiquing both political parties and the status quo.

“Both parties have failed to hold the public’s trust,” Harris said during her speech. “Government is viewed as fundamentally unable to meet the needs of its people. In these and in so many other ways, the people feel that the very institutions that were designed to support them have failed them. And they are not wrong.”

Harris has continued to remain toward the top in recent polling related to the 2028 race. Among a pool of Democrats, the former vice president won 31.1% of the vote, standing ahead of California Gov. Gavin Newsom with 20.3% and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg with 10%, a new Big Data Poll found. Newsom has also led in several other polls.

The reported bid was quickly met with mixed but mainly negative reactions on social media.

“Oh lord, the democrats are gifting Trump a third term,” Jason Calacanis, a co-host of the “All-In Post,” posted on X.

Mehdi Hasan, the progressive founder of the media company Zeteo, bluntly wrote: “Insanity.”

On December 14, 2025, President Donald Trump stated during a White House Christmas reception that his administration possesses “truckloads” of evidence proving Democrats rigged the 2020 presidential election. He remarked, “They’re good at cheating in elections. Very good at cheating, they’re professionals at cheating,” adding, “The election was rigged in 2020. We have all the ammunition, all the stuff, and you’ll see it come out. It’s coming out in truckloads.”Trump also claimed California’s elections are heavily rigged, particularly through mail-in voting, stating, “If the vote in California was legitimate… we would win California by a lot,” in reference to the 2024 election results.California Governor Gavin Newsom responded by posting a clip of Trump’s comments on X with the caption, “Hahahahahahahahaha ok.”The remarks reiterate Trump’s long-standing assertions of election fraud in 2020 and certain states, prompting divided reactions: supporters view them as highlighting potential irregularities, while critics dismiss them as baseless and note the lack of evidence from prior investigations.
